Titan one cool Cat

We have always had dogs and with all of our dogs we had 1 cat. The first cat Aaron and I had together was Sheila we gave her away because we were still dating and we decided to go our separate ways for a while. We had only had her for a few months.

Then after we married a little girl went around the neighborhood and gave away kittens and we got Patches. Patches was a cat that really didn’t want anything to do with anyone unless she was hungry. But she was part of our family and we loved her. After we moved she ran away never to be seen again.

I always knew there were cool cats out there because I have seen them at my sisters house at the time she had 2 now they own 3 but I loved Nalah. She was a cool cat she even did some funny stuff. So instead of totally giving up on cats I decided to go visit PAWS which is a kill shelter :(

I held several that day and then there he was they called him Cuteness we call him Titan. As soon as I held him he kissed me and we fell in love :). A cat that likes to love on people WOW, who would have known. He also gives hugs and purrs all the time.

Yesterday he was spayed and came home at 4:30pm he has so much personality. He loves water, enjoys all of our dogs, loves to cuddle and just cute. I love he’s eyes they are two toned the middle is teal the outer is blue. I wish you could see that in the pictures but you cant. I did have to take him back to the Vet today because he caught a cold at the shelter and is sneezing like crazy.

Anyway, the kids are ecstatic and I am just as happy that we finally have found a cat that fits in.

Music

I love all kinds of music. I don’t think there really isn’t anything I wont listen to as long as it has a good beat or an uplifting message. I love pop, rock, alternative, Christian, German, and even some Spanish music well you get the point.

I bought the Madonna CD and love it. It’s called Hard Candy. I have always loved her music and she never seems to get dull and always is true to herself. Madonna Rocks and always will!

The Little Red Hen a Kindergarten Musical

On Tuesday we were invited by the Kindergarten class to come see their musical called The Little Red Hen. I must admit I didn’t have high expectations but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Everyone did a fantastic job it was great to watch and it kept people interest. It had a real story line, funny parts and the music was cute as well.

I recorded it for Aaron since he is in Sweden and of course to make fun of Joshua when he is older. (I know I’m mean) lol

Here are a few pictures of Joshua in the play.

Another great Family Night or shall I say DAY

Sunday morning we all got up together and had breakfast. We decided that we would spend the day at the Adventure Science Center (ASC). We left at 10am and had planned on staying most of the day.

Ounce we got into Nashville we had taken a few wrong turn’s, which actually turned out aright since the kids were able to see the state capital building, which they thought, was cool. After arriving at the ASC we found there were no cars in the parking lot. Come to find out we still had 1 1/2 hours before they opened.

Sooo since its time for lunch we drive back to down town Nashville and walk the streets. We finally find a place to eat for lunch it was called Sbarros Pizza. After lunch we take our time and walk back and finally make it back to the ASC.

The ASC was such a blast. They had so many things to do and everything was hand’s on. The kids were able to play and we were able to participate. We spent 3 or 4 hours there before leaving we turned in our day pass and purchased a yearly pass. We are really excited about their new Sudekum Planetarium and Space Chase wing opening up next month.

This was way better then sitting at home watching a movie together. The surprising part of this whole day was no one got mad or even through a fit. Everyone was happy and we all had a fantastic time. This was truly the perfect family Day. I just adore my family and love spending time with them. This will be a memories we will all cherish I am sure.

I would post pictures but Aaron has the camera in Sweden so I hope pictures will follow ounce he gets back.

A New School for the Kids AGAIN

As the fam knows we have moved so many times it almost feels like ounce per year. Aaron and I both decided that enough is enough. The kids have been really affected by us. Both the older two have been held back because when you move from 1 school district into the next they miss bits and pieces.

An example of this is the months in a year. We found out at our last parent teacher conferences that our oldest didn’t know the months from January through December. How did we miss this you ask? Because he knows how to read and if you ask him what month we are in he can tell you. But if you ask him to do a math problem let’s say:

If Susie’s family scheduled a family vacation in January and the trip will take place in December, how many months will she have to wait?

He wouldn’t be able to answer this. He could today because we have been working on this for the past several weeks but a month ago he wouldn’t be able to. There are other things they have missed and it really breaks my heart because it is Aaron’s and my fault.

When we moved to Tennessee we decided to rent to own a house to make sure we liked the area. The owner of the house went through foreclosure so of course we had to move. We decided to stay in the same neighborhood so that the kids wouldn’t have to change schools and then guess what we get rezoned. WHAT????

Anyway, we had open house yesterday at the new school and it was very nice. The school, teachers, classroom, library and even the gym looks great. They are still in the same school district so per the teachers they will not miss anything because the schools teach the same curriculum. They also just built a new middle school and oh my gosh it has so much to offer. I can’t wait for them to start middle school everything seems to be state of the art.

The kids even saw some of their friends at the open house, which already makes them feel better since they know that they will have friends there as well. So I hope that this change will not hinder or affect them.

Blessed in Tennessee

Since we have moved away from our family’s it has become even more important to spend extra time with our kiddos. We eat together ever night and discuss the day, we occasionally watch TV together but most of the time to each their own. On the weekend the kids play outside with all of their little buddies so we make an effort to have family night on Sunday’s.

Family night can be many things such as spending the day together at the zoo. Having a schmorges board and watching a movie, going to dinner, playing games or going to the park. We usually leave it up in the air until that day.

Yesterday evening Aaron and I started talking about what we wanted to do for family night. We couldn’t come up with much of anything besides eating out or watching a movie. We realized that it was sad that we didn’t live closer to family. It would be nice going to see others on the weekend and letting the kids play. Aaron and I both got a little blue and where talking about moving not seriously but it was discussed. It was a rainy day, which didn’t really help.

Ounce the rain eased up we decided on riding our bikes but that didn’t work out because one of the kid’s bikes was in no condition to ride. Sooo then we decided to go the Green Way. We had a wonderful time. There were no kids at the park since everything was wet. But the kids had a blast they were laughing and giggling it was great. Ounce they were done we walked the green way. The air was fresh and happiness was in the air. Aaron and I walked hand in hand and the kids pulled us from one interesting thing to see to the next. They were able to play in the creek it was just wonderful.

After family night we ate dinner and had some ice cream. We came home put the kids to bed and I realized that even if we live far away from loved ones that’s its ok. We work harder on our own family by being so independent. We are a unit and as long as we have one another and there is love we will always be blessed.

Introducing “Sheila” Devin’s new pet hamster

Last year we purchased a ferret for Devin his name is Zipper. Devin had a really hard time taking care of Zipper so Devin gave Zipper to Jennifer. She still has him and he is doing very well.

Devin was supposed to bring home a corn snake that summer from Jennifer’s house but it never happened. He has been asking us to purchase the snake for him. We told him that we spent way too much money on Zipper and he was supposed to get one from Kansas City since for some odd reason they are cheaper there.

To make a long story short Devin never got a pet. So, last weekend we went to Petland and saw lots of animals. Aaron and I felt bad that he doesn’t have a pet and Mandy has fish. Devin wanted a mouse but then saw the hamsters. We decided that we should get one for him so he was able to pick his hamster out and has loved playing with it ever since we brought her home.

Her name is Sheila and she is very sweat and playful. Here are a few pictures of the two.

Farewell and Good by to Patches

Patches was our first pet we had gotten together as a family. She was truly one of the prettiest cats I had ever seen.

She wasn’t very loving unless she was hungry and she used us a hotel but we still loved her very much.

Patches loved the outdoors. We had tried to keep her as an inside cat but with 3 kids she always found her way out. We have searched high and low for the past 4 weeks and she is nowhere to be found. We hope that someone in the subdivision saw her and liked the way she looked and is taking good care of her.

Good by Patches we loved you!

Amanda had an accident.

Mandy is our drama queen and every time I turn around she is hurt and crying. This morning was a very busy morning. I got up to make the kids a warm breakfast because they are doing their state testing. I have rescheduled all of the kids Dentist appointments for this test because they are not supposed to miss a day.

Aaron tells the kids to start getting their shoes on because usually it takes them about 10 minutes for everyone to be done. Five minutes later Joshua is calling my name saying Mandy needs me. So, I walk out the front door where Aaron is already with Mandy and she is sobbing on the front stairs.

She says she fell on the stairs and it really hurt. SO what do I say “GET UP AND WALK IT OFF, YOU ARE GOING TO SCHOOL AND TAKING THE TEST”. I know how much she hates test even though she is doing great. Her last report card was all A’s with 1 B. So she slowly gets up and Aaron says “She’s Bleeding”. I hold her hand bring her in to change her pants. Here I am thinking that a bandage will do since she has a nice little scrape.

AND I START TO SCREAM HOLLY COW AARON WE HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. The girl had a 1-inch deep gash that was about a pinky finger long on her kneecap. BOY can you say horrible I felt like crap. I become a madwoman for the next 15 minutes trying to stop the bleeding and put shorts on her. I ask my sister to take the boys to school while Aaron and I rush Mandy to the Hospital.

I called our Pediatrician because we have to pay for everything out of pocket until we meet our $5000 deductible if we should go to the ER or Urgent Care. The Nurse says neither we can take care of her here. We have an x-ray machine and 1 Doctor that will do stitches he isn’t Mandy’s pediatrician but it will be better than going to the ER.

We brought her in and the Doc was like wow how did you do that??? She had to get several shots to numb the area. The Doc gave her 4 stitches and left a pretty big gap between each stitch since it is her knee cap and she cant bend her knee. She is out of school today and can return tomorrow as long as she keeps her leg straight. She also has a note for PE, which she will have to stay out of for 2 weeks.

That was our excitement for the day!

Aaron is into Photography

Who would have thought? After pursuing my dream of becoming a professional photographer and it failing, my husband decides that he enjoys photography and wants me to do it as a hobby with him. I think in the future we will use my website www.expressivephoto.com and change the name and just use it for nature and landscape photos.

Now for those of you that know Aaron realize it isn’t really like him to go out on a whimsy and pick up a hobby that has nothing to do with computers. It’s always been about computers and every ounce in a while he will talk about wood working. I have learned so much about computers and how they work because of Aaron, so it will be great teaching him a few things about photography.

But I have to say he looks cute and sexy with the camera exploring different areas such as the woods!!! I love being able to share this with him. Its always great finding something else that we both can do together.

These pictures of Aaron where taken in the woods behind the house. It’s really pretty we even have a stream.
